PLaying the game is doing all the missions and quests but what if your friends are a lot further then you are in the game. Can they just go back and hunt wherever they want with you?

and can you just hunt wherever you want in the game without having to do quests?to gain exp and gold?

Do you mean that if you go to areas, and not do the missions and quests in them you can get stuff? Sure.

If people that are a higher level than you go back to help you, they may or may not get exp (if they are 6 levels higher than the monsters there no exp) and they will always get gold/items wherever they are.

yes you can. I joined a guild before getting my actual game, and I've both been helped/guided by guild mates and helped/guided other guild mates on missions and quests. You can also go anywhere in the game you want without doing a single mission or quest (except for in 2 places where a mission must be done to reach the next area).

You can also chat real-time with anyone in the game regardless of their map location or even server, but you probably would have guessed that part anyway since it's not really a special or unique feature.

Beware... buy this game and much of your real life may go down the toilet

The only limitation is once your character leaves pre-sear Ascalon you cannot go back there.
